Dealer Transfers: $100 (including DROS)
With few exceptions, when a private citizen purchases a firearm through mail order, internet auction or similar long-distance transaction, the firearm is required by law to ship to a licensed firearms dealer, where the transfer will be conducted in accordance with local laws. Independence Armory does offer this transfer service. We can and will accept transfers from other dealers and private individuals. We will furnish a copy of our FFL to the seller, dealer and private party alike.

However, we ask that you use extreme prejudice when requesting the use of this service. We have no reservations on helping you attain that custom built rifle, at a reasonable cost. But we do not appreciate the abuse of this service to cut our retail rate by a few dollars. Also keep in mind; when transferring firearms from other dealers we must collect CA Use Tax (Sonoma County rate 9.25%) unless the tax was charged by the seller. Please use the following guidelines when requesting transfer service:

1)Do not ask us to conduct any transfer which violates the laws of the United States of America, or the State of California.
2)If you have a specific new firearm in mind, please ask us to quote you a price before buying from another source. We can and do purchase direct from many manufacturers, and offer good deals on many products.
3)Please do not ask us to transfer firearms from the notorious online gun shop killers, you know who they are. There prices may appear low, but they do not take into account the friendly service and helpful expertise we offer.

Transfer fees are $25 state fee, and $75 Independence Armory fee, for a total of $100. Multiple long guns may be transferred concurrently with a fee of $50 for each additional long gun transferred. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Private Party Transfer: $35
A Private Party Transfer (PPT) is any firearms transaction between two private individuals conducted with both parties present in our facility. A transaction that requires shipment from the seller to Independence Armory, whether from within or outside of the state, and a sale resulting from a consignment are not Private Party Transfers.

The fees for private party transfers are $25 state fee, and $10 Independence Armory fee, for a total of $35. Multiple firearms, including multiple handguns can be transferred concurrently during a Private Party Transfer. A transfer fee of $10 applies for each additional firearm, and the State of California levies a fee of $21 for each additional handgun.
